Papaya Faces

Papaya Faces

HAHAHAHAHAHA…..There has been a papaya sitting in Nancy and I’s kitchen for the last week now. Neither of us like eating papaya uurrrrgggh and we needed to get rid of it, so we decided to make it into face mask (yes, this was our first time!!!)
We mashed it up in the blender with a bit of honey and covered our faces in it. We left it on for no more than 5 minutes, and the results were amazing! Our skin feels so soft and clear right now, it’s incredible. It seems to even out your skin tones and make your skin really radiant – the best face mask I have ever used. I can highly recommend the papaya face! It’s easy, it’s natural and it’s really really good for you. Plus, if you like papaya you can eat it too!

Why is papaya so good?
Its FULL of antioxidants and Vitamin A, so it makes a great cleanser.
It helps to remove dead skin cells and exfoliate your skin in a natural way so your skin will feel soft and look refreshed.
It is full of alpha-hydroxy acids which are known for their anti-ageing properties, and work as a great skin firmer.
NOTE: I did read that you shouldn’t leave it on for more than 5 minutes, because it is an acidic fruit and may cause dryness if you leave it on for too long!

Yellow tree in Jaco

Yellow Tree in Jaco

Yellow Tree in Jaco

I had to share this photo with everyone. This tree was so amazing! It blossomed these bright bright yellow flowers, but only for about 3-4 days, and then all the blossom leaves fell off. It was the only one on the strip, and you can see it as you drive on the main road on the out side of Jaco, but unfortunately now it doesn’t look as pretty 😦

Motivation music! My new car CD, gym playlist, and surf inspiration!

I have very much been missing out on the music scene lately and listening to the same songs over and over again, so I took the time out yesterday to go through the UK Top 40 songs of this week and chose my favourite ones to make them into a playlist. Living out here in Costa Rica means that most of these songs haven’t reached our radios, clubs, bars or music scene yet, so they are all new to me and I LOVE IT! Apologies to all of you who have heard all these songs over 1000 times now and are completely over them haha. It’s so funny how music can effect your mood, change your mood, enhance your mood, and better your performance. Never underestimated the power of a good song or a tune that makes you feel good and brings you positive energy! Whether you’re feeling low or just need that extra bit of energy to get you through the last bit of training or to the end of your working day, music is a great way to get you pumped up to do just that :-). Everyone has different tastes in music and the style which motivates them most. Love it or hate it, here is my motivational playlist for this week!

1. Gotye – Somebody That I Used To Know
2. Nicki Minaj – Starships
3. Flo Rida ft. Sia – Wild Ones
4. Wiz Khalifa – No Sleep
5. Flo Rida – Good Feeling
6. B.o.B – So Good
7. David Guetta ft. Sia – Titanium
8. DJ Fresh ft. Rita Ora – Hot Right Now
9. Stooshe ft. Travie McCoy – Love Me
10. Pitbull ft. Chris Brown – International Love
11. Rhianna ft. Jay-Z – Talk That Talk
12. Will.I.Am – T.H.E
13. Tyga – Rack City

Palo Seco, fecha 2 del Circuito Nacional de Costa Rica

Palo Seco Fecha 2 del Circuito Nacional

Palo Seco Fecha 2 del Circuito Nacional

Really happy to have placed third in the Palo Seco contest this weekend. It’s the first final I made in the Costa Rican National Circuit, so I am really happy with the result. I have been training really hard the last few months and have been striving to do better, so this result has helped me believe that all the hard work pays off, and makes me want to work even harder to do better in the next events, and keep improving my ranking. We were really lucky with the waves in the final; the tide came up higher and there were great open waves for everyone to enjoy. I want to say congratulations to Leilani for winning the Female Open and the Junior girls, you are surfing really good girl and it’s exciting to see you get better and better every event! I also want to thank my sponsors Calavera Swimwear and A3 Energy drink for all of their support over the last few months. I am going to be working hard and training the most I can in the next few weeks to hopefully get to the final again in the next event in Esterillos next month.

Costa Rica National Circuit, Contest 2, Palo Seco

WHHOOOOP stoked to get through my first heat this morning in the contest! The waves were pretty big and closing out, so not the easiest conditions and loads of paddling, but I am really happy to have passed through. I am looking forward to tomorrow for better waves as the swell drops. Stay posted for results 🙂 x

Surf Lessons in Jaco with this weeks Rica Surf Crew

Proud to be British….!

Gyming this morning…..

Heading to the gym!
So this morning I had an hour free while our Rica Surf guests were out stand up paddle boarding, so me and Nancy decided to use this time to go to the gym…! YAY…haha. Here’s our mornings workout and what it consisted of….

Gym workout this morning….
An INTENSE 20 minutes on the bike haha
100 sit ups
40 leg pull ups
48 torso twists
48 varied squats with 50 Kilo weight
40 lunges
The Laura Enever surf workout 🙂 12 minutes
Skipping 4 minutes

AND DONE….back to work!

I had to share these two photos. Somehow…and I really don’t know how haha, but Nancy and I always seem to end up at the gym wearing matching outfits…Not just slightly matching, but almost identical! By the time we meet there it’s too late to go back and change…is it too embarrassing?? We haven’t decided yet….!

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

SUP in the am
Stand Up Paddle Boarding….if you haven’t tried it – you have to! It’s an awesome whole body work out, great fun, and ALWAYS available when there is no surf :-)…..I dropped our four guests on the Rica Surf Camp this week to go paddling this morning to the Island in Herradura, and I was very jealous not to be heading out with them! The conditions were beautiful, with a glassy flat plain all the way out to the island tip. I ended up going to the gym instead (no where near as fun!!), BUT I have booked my self in for a paddle on Sunday morning…stoked!
I am also really excited about my new camera I just got, it’s rad, so be prepared for a happy snappy blog for the next months to come! LOVE IT…!
